Venom returned in Series 3 with a new action feature built around the character’s most
iconic visual: the grotesquely long tongue that became his signature in Todd McFarlane’s
art. Press a button and the tongue flicks out from the gaping maw — a simple mechanism
that lands better than most because it’s so directly tied to what makes the character
recognizable.
The sculpt is updated from the Series 2 version — slightly different proportions, the
white spider symbol prominent across the black chest, and the teeth rendered with more
detail. The figure is larger than most in the line, reflecting Venom’s imposing physical
presence relative to Spider-Man.
Venom was already one of the most prominent figures in the line by this point, driven by
the character’s breakout status in the early-’90s comics. The Series 3 version gives
collectors a reason to own both: the tongue gimmick is distinct from the Series 2 Living
Skin slime pore feature, making the two feel like genuinely different toys rather than
a straight re-release.
